The Valley’s Janet and Jason Caperna Open to Having Another Child But Not ‘Right Now’

Janet and Jason Caperna are enjoying their family of three!

At the season 2 premiere of The Valley at BLVD Steak in Los Angeles on April 10, the married couple spoke with PEOPLE about becoming first-time parents and navigating parenthood on the reality series.

In the series’ first season, Janet, 39, and Jason, 41, were expecting their first child. Months after filming wrapped in December 2023, they welcomed their son, Cameron, now 16 months.

The couple revealed to PEOPLE that they are open to growing their family — but aren’t looking to do it “right now.”

“We’re so happy with our family dynamic, getting to have a break from pregnancy and postpartum and all of that,” Janet said. “But Jason has a younger sister. I have a younger brother, so we’re very comfortable with the family of four. So I think eventually that’s a goal, but right now we’re having fun.”

Jason echoed her sentiments and said, “That’s the plan.”

“The timing wouldn’t be right now, but in the relatively near future,” he said. “If we’re lucky and fortunate and blessed enough to probably expand our family by at least one more.”

The pair revealed that learning how to balance parenthood and filming the show has been “a lot.”

“We make boundaries with it,” Janet explained. “If we go out, it’s not for six hours at a time.” She noted that they’re homebodies who like to be with their son, “so just kind of taking it light and easy and going out for little bits at a time instead of long stretches.”

Janet also explained how filming the two seasons was “very, very different.” She said being able to film season 2 while not pregnant felt “like two different worlds.”

“Season two, I get to drink a little, which is fun, just to loosen up. Doing your first season of reality TV [while] pregnant is very interesting and different. Because most of our stuff, everybody’s having a couple of drinks, loose, having fun, and I am sitting there uptight, pregnant [and] hormonal.”

Jason noted that it also differed for him. “A lot of that time, my biggest priority was making sure [Janet’s] stress levels stayed as consistent as steady as possible.” He added that for season 2, he “went loose a little bit more” and “opened up a little bit more.”

More Bravo babies are on the way, with The Valley’s Nia Booko and Kristen Doute due this June.
