Lisa Rinna is reflecting on the painful postpartum depression she endured after starting a family with husband Harry Hamlin.

The RHOBH alum, 61 – who recently turned heads at the 2025 Fashion Trust U.S. Awards earlier this month – discussed the topic on Friday’s episode of the couple’s podcast Let’s Not Talk About The Husband.
Rinna and Hamlin tied the knot in 1997 and share two daughters: Delilah, 26, and Amelia, 23. During the podcast, Hamlin recalled Rinna threatening to kill him as she grappled with the condition after giving birth to Amelia.
Lisa explained that she struggled with ‘horrible’ postpartum depression after welcoming both their children but expressed, ‘I didn’t know it.
‘I didn’t know what it was. When you have your first baby, you don’t know. You just don’t know.’The TV personality suffered from PPD for a total of 15 months after Delilah was born and Rinna admitted she had felt ‘absolutely hopeless.’
However, her PPD worsened when Amelia was welcomed to the world in 2001.
Harry recalled, ‘You said, “I’m gonna kill you.” And I said, “You better call [your OB-GYN] right now.” You said, “You better watch out. I feel like killing you.” You said, “Keep the knives in the drawer.”‘
While Lisa didn’t remember saying those words to her husband, the reality star expressed that at the time, ‘I was having horrible hallucinations of killing people.
‘And I needed to take the knives out of the house. And I also had horrible visions of driving the car into a brick wall.’
She further explained that any negative thoughts or feelings were never aimed at her children.
‘I did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or form. It wasn’t about that,’ Rinna said on the podcast episode. ‘It was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations.
‘Looking back, I was completely psychotic,’ the Melrose Place star added before revealing that once she was prescribed anti-depressants, they ‘changed the game.’
Lisa has previously opened up about her struggles with PPD during an interview with Cosmopolitan last year in early 2024. ‘I had postpartum depression and I completely lost my mojo,’ the media personality told the outlet.
‘I didn’t know I had it for the first 15 months of Delilah’s life, and then once we figured it out, I was treated for it, and I was ready for it when I had Amelia. I went on an antidepressant, which helped tremendously.’ Rinna continued, ‘Without that, I don’t know how long it would’ve taken. I’m very positive and a very happy person, and I felt completely hopeless. And that’s pretty scary when you’ve never had that happen in your life.’
PPD ‘affects approximately 1 in 7 people during pregnancy or within the first year after childbirth,’ according to the NIH (National Institutes Of Health).
Last month in March, Lisa and Harry celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary – and the reality star jumped to her Instagram page to commemorate the milestone.
She shared black and white images from their wedding day and penned in the caption: ’28 years ago we said I Do ❤️ March 29, 1997.’
In one image, the Hollywood stars flashed cheerful smiles as they strolled down the aisle after exchanging vows.
Another was taken from behind Rinna to show her long, sheer veil that flowed down into a train behind her.
